Churchfield Primary School Black History Month 2008 - 18th December 2008

The theme for the Black History Month celebrations 2008 was Journeys. Children researched into the history of the SS Empire Windrush, which celebrated its 60 th Anniversary.

Many performances took place around the school. They were all very successful and featured children from Reception through to Year 6. The evening performance featured local community group Yashua Arts, who performed Reggae music and performance poetry. It also included our Drama Club and Choir.

Churchfield Primary School managed to raise over £500, through ticket sales and donations.

The school also had a Non Uniform Day. Children paid 50p to come to school in their own clothes, the proceeds of which added to our final total of over £600!

I would like to thank the all the staff, children and parents who contributed to raising this fantastic amount of money for Harvey.

Well Done Churchfield!!!
